Dr. Laura M. Holland

VMD

Dr. Holland is the owner and founder of Circle of Life Veterinary Clinic. She graduated from the University of Rochester in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, and worked for several years at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester, and then at the Wistar Institute, where she did research into melanoma. She then went on to earn a Masters of Laboratory Animal Science from Hahnemann University in 1992. She then worked in the field of cytotherapeutics (artificial organs).

Dr. Holland then decided to take her pursuit of science in a different direction, combining it with her lifelong love for animals, and enrolled in veterinary school. In 1998 she graduated from University of Pennsylvania with the degree of Veterinary Medical Doctor. She has been practicing since, and is particularly interested in neurology and feline medicine.

Dr. Holland lives in upper Bucks County with her husband and an ever-changing household full of rescue, special-needs, and foster cats and dogs. She runs daily, both to train for the competitive racing she enjoys and to maintain her own inner balance. Though she loves all animals, she has a particular fondness for beagles, and there will always be a special place in her heart for orange cats (if you've read David's story, you'll know why.)

Our Feline Inspiration

David came to Dr. Holland in horrible circumstances and pulled through to live a full and happy life with her. He is the inspiration behind her philosophy of medicine and the founding of this practice. Click on here to read his story, in her words.

Clinic Cat

Head of Feline Oversight - Guy

There are times when it seems we have "clinic cats", but these felines are more often than not rescue cats who "reside" with us while looking for a permanent home.  This does not stop them from becoming "our pets" even if for a short time.  Guy, adorable orange senior citizen, IS "our" cat.  Guy spends his days snoozing or eating.  When we have kittens here, Grandpa Guy loves to watch them and allows "tail time".
